Since the inception of The Malta Band Club Incorporated in 1971, our constitution and by-laws have been used to operate our organization. These guidelines have evolved over the years as the club has grown and circumstances have changed. The Malta Band Club constitution and by-laws consist of six sections.

Article I: Name and Objectives
Indicates the official name of the club and its main objectives.

Article II: Membership
Describes the various types of membership.

Article III: Executive Committee
Describes the different positions and duties of the executive committee.

Article IV: Meetings and General Business
Describes the agenda used at committee and general membership meetings.

Article V: Elections
Describes the process used for elections to the executive committee.

Article VI: Amendments
Describes the process by which the constitution and by-laws may be updated.

The main purpose of the fall general membership meeting is to give members an opportunity to propose amendments to our constitution and by-laws. Proposed amendments are explained, discussed and voted on at these meetings. Proposals that are accepted by the general membership result in revisions to the constitution and by-laws. All members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these guidelines and propose necessary changes.
